Prime Users
Defined: Prime
Users are those organizations who are
authorized to request issuance of a MINC
number. They include all 12 medical
licensing authorities, as well as the
Medical Council of Canada (MCC).
Responsibilities:
Prime Users’ responsibilities include:
1) as
part of their registration process, gather from
their applicants the core information required
by the MINC hub
2) assure
the veracity, accuracy and completeness of
information which they submit to the hub when
requesting issuance of a new MINC number.
3) when
a MINC number is generated as a result of their
submission, Prime Users would provide
documentation of that number to the individual.
This would be done via a form letter providing
an explanation of the nature of the unique
number and how it will be used, as well as a
document which verifies that the MINC number has
been issued to the individual. This document
would include all
core information which was provided to the
MINC hub.
4)
providing the ongoing point of
communication with their registered
practitioners about MINC issues.
Discussion: Prime
Users will each be provided with the operation
manual for the MINC system, a sign-on and
password for the MINC hub, and access to
MINC#NIMC staff to assist with MINC problems
and questions. They will be able to request MINC
numbers for all currently-registered members via
e-mail; a secure Internet-based access will be
available for both batch and single submissions.
Prime Users will be the primary information
source for MINC issues concerning physicians
within their jurisdictions.
